Lynette Hooker, 55 and her husband, Brian Hooker, 58, were living their best life in retirement until Lynette Hooker’s husband reported that she went missing in the Bahamas after she fell off a small boat. Brian Hooker reportedly told officials that Lynette fell into the water with the ignition key, causing the engine to shut off. The current carried her away, according to Brian, who paddled back to a marina at Marsh Harbor. He reported Lynette missing at around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday. Brian Hooker was arrested Wednesday evening and was being questioned in connection with his wife’s disappearance.
Royal Bahamas Police Force didn’t think the math was mathing with Brian Hooker’s story on what happened on Sunday so they arrested him.
However, Brian’s attorney, Terrel A. Butler, believes he was tricked into talking, telling TMZ how Brian was questioned by police for more than 3 hours, without a lawyer. Butler said his client informed police he had an attorney, but investigators allegedly told him he was NOT a suspect and they just needed “some assistance” in Lynette’s case. Brian obliged and cooperated, leaving Butler in the dark about what was said during interrogation. Investigators initially released Brian after the 3-hour questioning, then later arrested him. No charges have been filed yet.
As of this report Lynette Hooker has not been found and believed to have drowned.
