Virginia Mother And Her Disabled 3 Year Old Dead After Mother Allegedly Set Herself On Fire [VIDEO]

Mental health is a real and scary thing.   34 year old mother Destiny Wilson of Virginia and her 3 year old daughter have both died following a house fire that family members say began after the mother allegedly set herself on fire inside their home.

According to relatives, Destiny Wilson had a history of mental illness, had previously been institutionalized, and had threatened suicide in the past.  The grandmother said Wilson had recently become overwhelmed caring for her 3 year old Jamie Lee, who reportedly had autism, cerebral palsy, and a disorder involving self-harming behaviors.  Allegedly Wilson poured gasoline on herself and ignited it, prompting family members to rush in and try to extinguish the flames.  The fire spread into that room, and grew too intense to rescue the child. Hampton Fire & Rescue confirmed Tuesday that a child was pronounced dead in the home. Wilson died at the hospital with severe burns.  Six people were inside the home when the fire broke out, including a 10year old child who survived.
