Trump Administrations DOJ Announced They Are Dropping Police Reform Agreements In Louisville and Minneapolis

We take two steps forward, we said their names, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, the Biden administration two years following the death of George Floyd and massive protests across the United States Biden signed an executive order on police reform.  They take two steps back, the Donald Trump administration has announced that they are now dropping those police reform agreements in Louisville and Minneapolis.

The Trump Administration is continuing to roll back initiatives that Biden put into place.

The Trump administrations, Department of Justice is dismissing investigations into several major US police departments, as well as consent decrees in Louisville and Minneapolis reached following the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor and police killing of George Floyd, they plan to drop cases filed after incidents of police violence against Black people in multiple cities in the U.S.  This means all civil lawsuits that were placed against these cities regarding police brutality and police misconduct will ALL be dismissed.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said in a statement:

“Overbroad police consent decrees divest local control of policing from communities where it belongs, turning that power over to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats, often with an anti-police agenda,” “Today, we are ending the Biden Civil Rights Division’s failed experiment of handcuffing local leaders and police departments with factually unjustified consent decrees.”
