‘THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED!!!’ Netflix Reportedly Has Backed Out Of Warner Bros. After Being Out Bid By $111B

Kendrick Lamar told y’all to turn your ‘TV Off’, the revelation will not be televised.

Netflix was rumored to be working on an agreement involving Warner Bros., which owns properties like HBO, DC, and the Harry Potter franchise. But according to reports, Netflix ultimately decided to walk away from the negotiations after Paramount came in bidding $111 billion for the media company.

The stunning twist leaves Paramount Skydance, headed by CEO David Ellison, as the remaining bidder and in position to take control of the storied media giant.  Paramount’s bid was for the entire company, while Netflix was seeking to acquire only its streaming service, HBO cable channel and film studio business.

According Netflix co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters spoke on the deal saying it would have nice to have had Warner Bros. but it wasn’t a must have for that price.  Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos visited President Donald Trump in the Oval Office last year, with Trump describing him as “fantastic” on December 7th but moments later, he said a Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery combination “could be a problem” because of how much market share the resulting company would have.

So what does this rally mean??

CNN, the broadcast news company that President Donald Trump has often slammed as “fake news” over its critical reporting on him, would be under the control of the Ellison family. David Ellison’s father, Larry, is one of Trump’s biggest allies and megadonors, and David Ellison has led a dramatic rightward shift in culture at CBS since taking over last year.  Since Ellison’s takeover, CBS News has also seen leadership shakeups, including the installation of conservative-leaning editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, as well as layoffs and resignations.
