The Color Purple Starring Fantasia Official Trailer Has Dropped [VIDEO]

In December of 1985 Steven Speilberg, delivered a master piece of a movie that would be watched by generations to come, with a star studded cast ‘The Color Purple’, based on the novel by Alice Walker, with a $15 million budget that would scorch the box offices bringing in a record number of $98.4 million.

37 years later a ‘Color Purple’ remix is being released, in December of 2023.

The new, Color Purple, was comprised of legends of the past, such as Steven Speilberg, Oprah Winfrey and Quincy Jones.  Newbies to the historic ‘Color Purple’ journey will be director by Blitz Bazawule, Fantasia Barrino plays Celie in her feature film debut, while Danielle Brooks plays Sofia among a star-studded cast that also includes Taraji P. Henson, Halle Bailey, Louis Gossett Jr., Corey Hawkins, David Alan Grier, Colman Domingo, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, H.E.R., Ciara, Jon Batiste and Deon Cole.  The Color Purple will have the same storyline however the new is a adaption of the Color Purple is the merging of the non-musical film with the historic Broadway musical.

Warner Brothers has released the official trailer, and it appears that we are going to have a historic Box Office smash once again.
