Texas 5 Year Old Killed In A Road Rage Incident [VIDEO]

Post pandemic it is clear that more people have anger issues that go from 0 to 500 in 2 seconds with results that end in violence.  A Texas mother is grieving the loss of her 5 year old daughter that was killed in an alleged road rage incident while the mother and all her children were riding home.  Someone opened fired on her car killing her 5 year old and injuring 2 other children.

The shooting happened Saturday, September 19th, around 11:30 p.m. near Grant Road and Jones Road in Harris County. Monica Hicks said she was driving home from her mother’s house when someone fired at least five shots into her vehicle. 

“I didn’t hear a loud gunshot, but I heard like a phew. By that time, my back window shattered. All my kids in the back seat were screaming, and they continued to shoot in my car,” … “It’s so sad that on my way home to safety, me and my kids were basically gunned down.”

Monica Hicks said she didn’t realize her daughter, Zah’Layah Walter, had been shot until she reached their apartment complex. The little girl was airlifted to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Two of her siblings suffered non-life-threatening injuries from shattered glass.

Authorities arrested 47-year-old Jeremy Porter on Sunday and charged him with capital murder after detectives used automated license plate readers to track him down.  Court records show Porter admitted to firing five rounds at Hicks’ car, allgedgeing he shot at the car because he thought the people inside had shot at him and were driving erratically.

Jeremy Porter remains in custody at the Harris County Jail.
