Big up’s are most definitely in order as Golden State Warrior and now an Olympic Gold Medalist, Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha are teaming up to help improve literacy to students in Oakland California by pledging to raising $25 million over the next five years to boost literacy rates of students across Oakland, California.
On the day Stephen Curry signed his one-year, $62 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors, the Curry’s through their organization, Eat. Learn. Play, will help provide professional one-on-one tutoring for children who are two or more grades behind. This means approximately 10,000 students will get the assistance they need to thrive.
Prior to this endeavor Steph and Ayesha have already restocked school libraries, held free book fairs, distributed hundreds of books across the city, and plan to build over 100 Little Town libraries.
