Prayers are in order as tragic news has been reported that R&B/Soul singer/songwriter Angie Stone has passed away at the age of 63 years old, following an alleged car accident.
The news of Angie Stone’s untimely passing was shared by her daughter on her Facebook page. Angie Stone’s rep Deborah R. Champagne told TMZ that Angie left a performance in Montgomery, Alabama early Saturday morning when she was killed in a car crash. No other details are known at this point.
Angela Laverne Brown professionally known as Angie Stone, rose to fame in the late 1970s as, Angie B, a member of the Sugar Hill Records label hip hop trio the Sequence. In the 90’s Angie Stone became the R&B trio Vertical Hold, best known for their hit single Seems You’re Much Too Busy. Then in 1999 Angie Stone signed a solo deal with Arista Records to release her debut solo album Black Diamond.
Angie Stone is survived by two children, daughter, Diamond, from her marriage to Rodney Stone and son Michael D’Angelo Archer II, born during her relationship with NEO soul singer D’Angelo .
