Sheryl Lee Ralph Emotional Emmy Speech For Outstanding Supporting Actress [VIDEO]

The lack of recognition for outstanding actors and actresses in Hollywood is just mind blowing.

Sheryl Lee Ralph has lit up our television screens as well as silver screens since landing her breakthrough role in The Broadway musical ‘Dreamgirls’ in 1981.  Since then Sheryl Lee Ralph has had roles in numerous television shows, countless movies as well as seeing her name in lights on Broadway in 6 different productions.

So it is quite surprising that since entering the acting arena in 1977 it took Sheryl Lee Ralph to 2022 to finally achieve  her very first Emmy Award.

Congratulations are most definitely in order as Sheryl Lee Ralph took home a 2022 Emmy Award last night for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for ‘Abbott Elementary’.  It is only the 2nd time in Emmy history that a woman of color has taken home an award in that category.

In an emotional tear jerking acceptance speech, Sheryl Lee Ralph had this to say:

“Anyone who has ever, ever had a dream and thought your dream…couldn’t come true. I am here to tell you that this is what believing looks like. This is what striving looks like. And don’t you ever, ever give up on you.”
