We guess TSA and Air Traffic controller aren’t the only ones running on fumes these days. A San Francisco Tran Operator feel asleep at the wheel sending the train speeding up to 50 miles per hour with passengers screaming, only to wake up and say “I’m sorry, relax, relax, relax — it wouldn’t stop. We didn’t crash.”
In San Francisco a Muni train operator allegedly nodded off at the controls and sent the whole train flying up to 50 mph. Passengers were screaming, flying from their seats, and slamming into walls as the train shot through the tunnel like something out of a movie. When the chaos finally stopped, the driver had the audacity to tell everyone, “I’m sorry, relax, relax, relax — it wouldn’t stop. We didn’t crash.”
The train operator claimed the emergency brakes wouldn’t work, SFMTA says a full inspection of the train’s braking system confirmed that it performed as designed.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency confirmed the wild ride happened because of “operator fatigue.” Security footage reportedly shows the driver’s eyes closed and her head tilted to the side right before everything went left. Officials say she’s been placed on “nondriving status” while they “address the matter internally.”
