Rosa Parks 5.0: Delta Made A Black Woman Get To The Back Of The Plane [VIDEO]

There is a saying that history always repeats itself, hence the importance in order to get to your future you must know your past and as scary as it may sound in 2022 with all the great strides that have been made with racial equality we are still not all the way there and unfortunately for Camille Henderson of California, Delta Airlines made her relive an ugly past.

On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks rejected bus driver James F. Blake’s order to vacate a row of four seats in the “colored” section in favor of a white passenger, once the “white” section was filled.  On February 3, 2022 Camille Henderson was flying from Atlanta to San Francisco on Delta Airlines and sat at her ticketed window seat in row 15 when two white women sat next to her and complained that they didn’t have enough room and Delta made Ms. Henderson mid-flight move to the back of the plane.

The scene described by Camille Henderson happened when she was flying back to the Bay Area after visiting family in Atlanta not only was she forced to move to the back of the plane even though she could produce the ticket showing she was in fact in her correct seat, while the white women that complained could not.  The rational fix would be for the two complainers to move to the back but instead according to Camille Henderson she was made to move as people starred at her embarrassingly as if she did something wrong.  Even with all that Camille Henderson didn’t want to make it a race issue but when she tried to file a complaint with Delta she given the ‘I don’t see what the problem was, or why you would have been embarrassed’ treatment.

Delta’s response to the incident was to open an investigation into the matter and then release an official statement.

“We are looking into this situation to better understand what happened,” …“Delta has no tolerance for discrimination in any form and these allegations run counter to our deeply-held values of respecting and honoring the diversity of our customers.”
