Prayer warriors are being summoned by the family of the legendary civil rights leader, Reverend Jesse Jackson as he has been hospitalized for a neurodegenerative condition which is a rare brain disorder.

The family of 84 year old Rev. Jesse Jackson, is asking for prayers, according to a news release from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the nonprofit he founded. Jesse Jackson was admitted to the hospital Wednesday and is under observation for his progressive supranuclear palsy, a neurodegenerative condition he has had for more than a decade, according to the release.  As of Thursday according to his family members he is stable condition while surrounded by loved ones at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Jesse Jackson has been managing the condition, called progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), for over a decade, according to Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

“He was originally diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease; however, last April, his PSP condition was confirmed,” “The family appreciates all prayers at this time.”

The disorder damages certain areas of the brain and affects a person’s walking, swallowing, balance and eye movements, according to the Mayo Clinic. The condition worsens over time and can lead to dangerous complications, including trouble swallowing and pneumonia.

There is no cure for the disease, however we all know that it is God’s call, as we will keep the legendary civil rights leader, Reverend Jesse Jackson uplifted in our prayers.
