Ray J’s Mother Sonja Norwood Confirms His Serious Heart Condition

Ray J it little while back shocked fans by saying that 2027 is a wrap for him. Ray J in a video on social media said doctors told him that Alcohol and drugs have done him in.  Prayer warriors went in action praying for the ‘One Wish’ singer.  Then on Valentines day Ray J, was seen performing with bleeding eyes and a chest monitor while in concert in Shreveport, La. He addressed the shocking situation in a Facebook video shared on Thursday, Feb. 19, telling fans to “forget what you’re hearing.”  while some accused what was being shared on social media as fake.  We all know that Ray J does the most on social media but playing about your health wouldn’t be cool.  Ray J’s mother Sonja Norwood has hopped on social media in a video to share some context as to what is going on with her son, Ray J.

According to Sonja Norwood Ray went to the hospital in early January for what they initially thought was pneumonia. While she and her husband were ready to rush to his side, Ray J told them not to worry, because he’d had pneumonia just a few months earlier and didn’t think it was anything serious. Sonja said she later found out Ray wasn’t being released, prompting her and her husband to fly to Las Vegas to see for themselves what was happening. According to her, Ray was experiencing “severe chest pain” and “couldn’t move.” After doctors ruled out pneumonia, they performed an angiogram, which revealed he has a serious heart condition called cardiomyopathy (a disease of the heart muscle. It causes the heart to have a harder time pumping blood to the rest of the body). The test showed his heart’s blood flow was only 15% to 20%. “Every other word explained to us was ‘this is life-threatening,’”
