Rapper Young Dolph Honored in Memphis With a Street Naming  [VIDEO]

Rapper 36 year old Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., better known by his stage name Young Dolph was gunned down in his hometown of Memphis while going out to enjoy his hometown favorite cookie shop, Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies.   Now the city that Young Dolph held dearly to his heart is honoring the rapper with a street named after hims.

Wednesday their was an unveiling of Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton Jr. Avenue, the new road in town that’ll now honor the slain rappers memory, is on one side of the intersection of Dunn Road and Airways Blvd., acting as a reminder of a man whose whole life’s work surrounded the progress of Memphis.

On hand for the officially ceremony was Young Dolph’s long time soulmate, Mia Jaye, Councilwoman Martavius Jones, Councilman JB Smiley Jr. as well as other local politicians.

“I’m grateful the world can see him for who he truly is. Not the persona that most saw him for being, but who he truly is. He is more than deserving to have a street named after him,” -Mia
