Prosecutors Say They Caught Keefe D On The Jail Phone Conspiring To Harm Witnesses [VIDEO]

One of the biggest cold cases in Hip Hop happened on September 7, 1996 when at the age of 25 years old Tupac Shakur was murdered in a drive by shooting while stopped at a light, being driven by Death Row Records Suge Knight.  Tupac’s murder case had many twists and turns but never any resolve as to who, what and why the legendary rapper was gunned down, until possibly now.

Keefe D had been speaking openly about his involvement with Tupac’s murder for years now, alleging his nephew and fellow Crip Orlando Anderson was the trigger man that fateful night for years, (in our Suge Knight voice) all up in the interviews about Tupac’s death, all up in the documentaries.

On September 29, 2023, 60 year old Duane Keith Davis, aka “Keffe D,” was arrested Friday for the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. The indictment alleges that Keith Davis, aka “Keffe D,” was involved in the shooting and obtained a firearm “for the purpose of seeking retribution against” Shakur and Marion “Suge” Knight, the head of his record label, Death Row, and a longtime affiliate of a rival set, the Mob Piru. The indictment doesn’t say Davis pulled the trigger, but says he and three other gang members conspired to kill the rapper “by acting in concert throughout.”

Keefe D has been locked up ever since and is waiting for is day in court however according to a report not so patiently.

Prosecutors allege that murder suspect Duane “Keefe D” Davis and his son conspired to harm witnesses set to testify against him during a jail phone call. In audio obtained by ABC News affiliate KTNV, Davis can be heard in a conversation with his son, using the term “green light.” Prosecutors argue in the court docs that, in Davis’ world, a ‘green light’ is an authorization to kill.” which “caused enough concern that the Federal Government stepped in and provided resources to at least [one witness] so he could change his residence.”
