People sometimes watch ‘My 600-Lb. Life’ for entertainment, opposed to what it should be, an education on being healthy in life. ‘My 600-lb Life’ Star Latonya Pottain weight loss was partly documented on TLC’s My 600-Lb. Life, as she struggled to commit to a weight-loss program, on season 11. Sadly it’s being reported that Latonya Pottain has passed away at the age of 40 years old still struggling with her weight loss journey.
Reportedly according to Latonya Pottain’s family member, Pottain, passed away at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, La after having difficulty breathing and later suffering a cardiac arrest. According to the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office, a preliminary autopsy revealed that she died from congestive heart failure.
On ‘My 600-lb Life’, Latonya’s weight loss journey was followed closely, but Dr. Younan Nowzaradan released her as a patient because she wasn’t sticking to the program. According to Latonya’s GoFundMe page she started the show at 531 lbs and left the show at 505 lbs. Unfortunately the reason for Latonya Pottain’s GoFundMe page was to get help for her 2024 weight and health situation, where she said “I currently weigh about 705 pounds and have been bedridden since June 2024 due to severe health issues”
