Prayers, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Eric Dane Has Passed At Age 53 [Last Words VIDEO]

Prayers are in order as it has been reported that ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Eric Dane has sadly passed away at the age of 53 years old following his battle with ALS.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that destroys motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord.

The actor, Eric Dane, passed away Thursday evening at a Los Angeles hospital surrounded by his wife, daughters, friends, and other loved ones.  Dane, widely recognized for his role on Grey’s Anatomy, revealed in April 2025 that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as ALS. He previously shared that the journey to a diagnosis was long and frustrating, visiting multiple specialists and undergoing numerous tests before a neurologist confirmed the disease.

Prior to his death, Eric Dane sat for an interview with the understanding that it would only be shared with the world after he passed (see below).   In that conversation, he reflected on his battle with ALS, his struggles with addiction, and his marriage to Rebecca Gayheart:

“I will never, by the time anybody sees this, have fallen in love with another woman as deeply as I fell in love with Rebecca.”
