Prayers: Gabourey Sidibe’s Husband Diagnosed With Cancer [PHOTO]

Prayer warriors are being summoned as it is being reported that actress husband and father of her twins, Brandon Frankel, has been diagnosed with cancer.

Gabourey Sidibe best known as the Academy Award nominated actress for Best Actress for her breakout debut role as the title character in the 2009 film Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire, then as her role in FOX Empire as Becky, since the fall of Empire has been living a happy family life often posting her husband along with their recently welcomed twins.

On Friday, Gabourey Sidibe Frankel opened up on Instagram about her husband being diagnosed with Stage I Papillary Thyroid cancer following surgery to remove the tumor. Gabourey right by the father of her twins side, shared selfies from his hospital bed alongside, explaining that doctors caught the cancer early but only because he refused to be dismissed. The surgery went well, and while the pathology showed a more aggressive cell type, Frankel is already focusing on recovery and being present for his family. Brandon Frankel emphasized the critical role Gabourey Sidibe played, calling her the backbone of their family during his appointments, surgery, and recovery.

Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel married in 2021 and welcomed twins Cooper and Maya in April 2024.
