Prayers Actor Thomas Jefferson Byrd Shot and Killed Age 70

Prayers are in order as it is being reported that actor Thomas Jefferson Byrd known for his acting in Spike Lee joints, Chi-Raq,  Bamboozled, He Got Game, Get On The Bus, and Clockers to name a few, was shot and killed in Atlanta over the weekend at the age of 70.  The Tony Award nominated actor, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, also had acting roles in  Set It Off, Ray, Lackawanna Blues, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Living Single and In the Heat of the Night.

The news was broke via Spike Lee’s Instagram page.  

Police were called to an area in Atlanta where they found Thomas Jefferson Byrd  laying unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the back.  His killing is being investigated as a homicide.

We will be keeping the family, colleagues and friends of Thomas Jefferson Byrd uplifted in our prayers.
