Prayers:  Actor Demond Wilson From ‘Sanford And Son’ Has Passed At 79

Prayers are in order as sad news is being reported, actor Demond Wilson iconically famous for his role as Lamont Sanford on ‘Sanford and Son,’ has passed away Friday morning at his home in Palm Springs, California, from complications related to cancer, at the age of 79 years old.  

The news of Grady Demond Wilson’s passing was confirmed by his son Wilson’s son, Demond Wilson Jr., to TMZ.

“I loved him,”   “He was a great man.”

Professionally known as Demond Wilson, who played Lamont, son  junk dealer Fred Sanford, played by Redd Foxx on NBC comedy show ‘Sanford and Son’ that ran from 1972 to 1977 and became a staple of ‘70s television.  Following Sanford and Son, Wilson headlined the CBS comedy Baby… I’m Back! and later played Oscar Madison in The New Odd Couple, a reimagining of the classic buddy sitcom.
