Donald Trump signed orders then informed employees that they will be put on paid administrative leave as the agencies prepare to close all DEI-related offices and programs and to remove all websites and social media accounts for such offices. All Federal employees in diversity, equity and inclusion roles be placed on paid leave. Since taking office on Jan. 20, U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a series of executive orders aimed at dismantling diversity, equity and inclusion programs across the federal government and the private sector.
Despite being on the list of the Defense Intelligence Agency’s paused events and activities, the memo clarified that Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth will remain federal holidays.
Amid concerns about whether President Donald Trump‘s anti-DEI orders should be interpreted as the federal government ending its tradition of observing Black History Month, Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the White House “certainly still intends to celebrate.”
