Passengers Saved Flydubai Flight Headed To Tel Aviv Forcing It To Divert After Pilot Was Attacked [VIDEO]

For those who were born during the September attacks 9/11/01 on US soil, it seems like it was just yesterday.  Just 19 days following the 25th anniversary of that horrifying day, a co-pilot of a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv tried to crash the plane after stabbing the pilot, but ​passengers subdued him while other pilots landed the plane safely in Saudi Arabia, according Israeli officials on Wednesday.

Reportedly nearly all 180 passengers were Israeli, that were on the Flydubai, flight  FZ 1073, bound for Tel Aviv from Dubai, including at least one U.S. citizen when the incident happened.  

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

“As they approached Israel, one of the pilots stabbed the other,”…“It appears he attempted to crash the plane with everyone on board.”

Reportedly the plane then started shaking, with the aircraft briefly diving “toward the ground,” Someone then broke into the cockpit and said both the pilot and co-pilot had been stabbed.  Flight data indicates the plane plunged by 14,125 feet in just 29 seconds.  The aircraft was “successfully secured” by on-duty crew traveling onboard, Flydubai said. They were able to divert and land the aircraft safely at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport.

According to Netanyahu, the pilot who carried out the stabbing was placed under arrest and was “being questioned by the Saudi authorities.”
