O.M.G. T.I. And Tiny Wins $71Mil Judgement

Finally Rapper T.I. and his wife singer/song writer Tiny has gotten some good news that has put financial growth in their Family Hustle, in the tune of $71 million dollars after a jury ruled in their favor in a lawsuit against MGA Entertainment.  Not for a stealing beats or lyrics issue but over the popular O.M.G. Dolls.

After a case that started in 202o a jury found that seven of MGA’s O.M.G. Dolls had infringed on the trade dress and unique look of the OMG Girlz, a pop group co-owned by T.I.  Following six hours of deliberation over two days, the jury ruled that MGA’s infringement was not only “willful” but also done with “malice, oppression, or fraud.” This finding significantly increased the damages awarded. The initial sum of $17.8 million was supplemented with $53 million in punitive damages, bringing the total to a whopping $70.8 million.

T.I. in a statement had this to say about the judgement that will set a new precedent in fighting intellectual property theft.

“This is a victory not just for us, but for every artist who has had their work taken without permission,”

Tiny in an IG Live video outside the courthouse had this to say:

“It was a fight. It was a hell of a fight,” “We couldn’t be more happy.” “We wanted to thank the jurors for just seeing us through this, and just believing in what we said. They heard our story and they knew we wasn’t lying. It’s amazing,”
