NYC ‘Karen’ Has Got Citi Bike Receipts !?

A Manhattan hospital employee caught the ‘Karen’ label when a confrontation that was caught on camera went viral that shows her get irate and scream amid a dispute over a Citi bike with a group of young Black men.  The two-minute video starts with a woman, who is white, wearing hospital scrubs straddling a Citi bike as she screams for help, even though she doesn’t appear to be in danger.

NYC Health + Hospitals operates Bellevue Hospital did an investigation then placed ‘Karen’ on leave.   

A lawyer for the New York City hospital ‘Karen’ claims they have receipts to prove she paid for the Citi Bike at the center of a viral dispute.  Attorney Justin Marino told the New York Post on Wednesday that the Bellevue Hospital employee was the first to rent the bike. Neither the woman’s employer, Bellevue Hospital, nor the lawyer revealed the accused provider’s name.

The first receipt reviewed by The Post shows the bike being taken out before it was re-locked one minute later, which Marino said is the bike seen in the video.  The second receipt shows another bike being taken out a minute later from the same docking station and was the bike Marino said his client used to get home after being “heckled and pressured to find a new bike” by the group.
