Nicki Minaj’s Hubby Kenneth Petty Is Asking A Judge To Dismiss Lawsuit That Accuses Him Of Pressuring Jennifer Hough To Recant Rape Allegations

Jennifer Hough along with lawyer Tyrone A. Blackburn, sat down on ‘The Real’ back in 2021, recalling the time she says Kenneth Petty, who is now the husband of rapper Nicki Minaj, raped her before school that year. Hough encountered Petty at the bus stop and he put an object in her back and forced her into a nearby house.  Jennifer Hough who is at the center of a lawsuit against Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty says she is “tired of being afraid,” alleging Petty was pressuring her to retract her account.   Nicki Minaj claimed that Jennifer Hough and Kenneth Petty were in a relationship and that her now husband Kenneth Petty was 15 at the time. 

Fast-forwarding to now, 2026, Kenneth Petty is asking a judge to dismiss the lawsuit that is accusing him of pressuring Jennifer Hough to recant her rape allegation.

 According to TMZ, Kenneth Petty is using a decades-old letter to seek dismissal of Jennifer Hough’s lawsuit accusing him of pressuring her to recant her rape allegations.  They claim Petty submitted a 1994 letter initially wrote by Hough asking prosecutors to drop the rape charge and describing her allegations as “half false.” The disputed letter describes refusing sex and being told she could leave if she agreed. It also claims marks on her neck were hickeys from someone else the day before, rather than injuries from choking.  Hough’s attorney disputed the signature and questioned a minor producing a typed recantation without parental consent. She said a judge disregarded the same tactic in 1994.

Kenneth Petty was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in April 1995 for an assault the previous year of a then-16-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 18 to 54 months in prison and is listed as a level two registered sex offender in New York state. He served four years behind bars for the assault.

Kenneth Petty is the husband of rapper Nicki Minaj, the couple married on October 21, 2019 and share a son together.
