Many flock south and some out of the country to have cosmetic surgeries as getting a BBL is the thing to have. We have heard many horror stories of these possible inexpensive surgeries to give woman the perfect body, gone wrong, with some having serious medical health issues while some have passed. The worst case scenario has happened to a New York detective and mother of 3 after traveling to Colombia to have a BBL surgery.
40 year old Detective Alicia Stone went to Cali, Colombia, on October 16 to get liposuction and a gluteal fat transfer, also known as a BBL. After the procedure, she was recovering in a hotel when she was found unresponsive around 6:30 a.m. on October 23. After being rushed to a hospital sadly Alicia Stone had reportedly passed away from an alleged unspecified cardiac arrest.
Her husband, Michael Stone, told the Daily News that he intends to request an autopsy and probe what led to her sudden death.
Experts warn that BBL surgeries are among the riskiest cosmetic procedures. Studies show that one in every 3,400 patients worldwide dies from complications, often due to fat entering the bloodstream.
