Nelly Was The “I AM HIP HOP” Honoree At The BET Hip Hop Awards [VIDEO]

Rapper Nelly with his St. Lunatics in tow made the city of St. Louis a household name making everyone forget about the Y2K bug that was the trending story to bring in the New Millennium when he dropped his debut album Country Grammar on us where he invited Hip Hop fans to take a ride with him and Hip Hop fans have been rockin with Nelly ever since.

Last night Nelly was recognized for his longevity and greatness by being honored with the “I AM HIP HOP” award at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

“It’s an honor anytime you get celebrated for your achievements in whatever it is that you do, especially if you’ve been doing it for almost 23 years,” –Nelly

However Nelly is Hip Hop so you couldn’t have thought he would accept the award then return to his front, no sir, Nelly accepted his award with class before making it hot in here with the BET audience shaking it like they had a friend with a pole in the basement.
