A active shooter situation caused for a lockdown with some being evacuated following a shooting at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital in Michigan. The shooting happened in a parking garage just shortly after 7:00am, when the suspect fired a handgun five times striking a 25-year-old man twice. The 25 year old victim is in stable condition and reportedly a suspect has been arrested.
Officials are calling the incident “targeted” attack. The victim and the shooting suspect were friends who had a falling out at some point, Troy Police Department Chief Josh Jones said at a press conference Thursday. The suspect was taken into custody at a residence in Troy after he fled the scene, police said. After he was contacted by phone, the suspect walked out and surrendered without incident, police said. Officials have not revealed the identity of the suspect.
