If you are a Michigan football coach you can loose every game in a season except to Thee Ohio State Buckeye’s and still be good. Unfortunately in fact a couple weeks ago Michigan Football coach Sherrone Moore lost at home to Ohio State, however that’s not what cost him his job nor what got him arrested all in a matter of 24 hours sending shock waves threw football fans everywhere.
Michigan Football Head coach Sherrone Moore was fired on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 with the University of Michigan saying it found evidence that Moore had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer. Then on that same Wednesday it was reported that Saline Police had detained Moore after officers responded to a call on the 3000 block of Ann Arbor-Saline Road for an alleged assault investigation.
According to a statement by Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel:
“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior. Biff Poggi has been appointed head football coach in an interim capacity, effective immediately.”
Sherrone Moore coached the Wolverines full-time from 2024-25, leading Michigan to a 17-8 record over those two seasons, with four games coached as an interim in 2023 and a two-game suspension in 2025, with the Michigan Wolverines having a 9-3record for 2025.
This firing and arrest of of Sherrone Moore comes just weeks away from The Michigan Wolverines football team playing in the 2025 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, facing the Texas Longhorns in Orlando at Camping World Stadium.
