Meagan Good Say’s Friends And Jonathan Majors Tried To Discourage Her From Dating Him

Today in celebrity Reality/Relationship hour, inquiring minds have been wanting to know how and why actress Meagan Good ended up with fallen from grace actor Jonathan Majors.  Especially since Meagan Good and Ordained Minister DeVon Franklin announced their divorce in December 2021 after nine years of marriage and finalized the split in June 2022, just a week after what would have been their 10-year anniversary.

In a recent interview Meagan Good revealed that not only did her friends discourage her from dating Jonathan Majors, the ‘Creed’ actor himself tried to discourage her as well.

Meagan Good sat down on the Today Show to talk about starring in Tyler Perry’s new movie Divorce in the Black, when she was asked about dating Jonathan Majors in the midst of his legal drama.  According to Meagan Good all her friends were against her dating him.

“One thing I know is that I can always look in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, and when I move to the beat of my own drum… I can always look and say, ‘Okay, I’m proud of that.’ No matter whatever happens, I have peace in my heart and have harmony in my heart.”

Meagan Good in another interview shared that her friends weren’t her only naysayers, Jonathan Major’s tried to discourage her from dating him.

“he actually tried to encourage me not to be with him. He wanted to protect me. I was like, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with a Black Leo. And also, I grew up in this industry. The things that I’ve been through gave me the bandwidth to love other people, regardless. So when we got together it was like, this is going to be a lot, but you got the right one.”

Divorce in the Black drops July 11th on Amazon Prime.
