MARTA Files Lawsuit Against Employee Who Was Accidentally Paid $620,000 In Overtime In April An Still Hasn’t Returned The Money [VIDEO]

If you were over paid in error, would you give it back?  MARTA has filed a lawsuit against an employee who was accidently paid $620,000 in overtime back in April and five months later they still haven’t got the money back.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has filed a civil lawsuit against a former station-cleaning employee to recover $620,000 mistakenly paid out in unearned overtime.  The was paid $620,000 in overtime pay in April that they did not earn due to a clerical error, according to MARTA. The error was not flagged until July. Five months later, the money still has not been returned by employee and neither him nor the employee involved in the clerical error have returned to work.

Charles Bridgers, an Atlanta attorney specializing in employment law says while MARTA is pursuing a civil case against the employee, the employee could also face a criminal charge of “theft by taking.”
