Mario Rodriguez Jr. Addresses The Elephant In The Room, Why He Kept Seeing Tyler Perry After Alleged Abuse

Mario Rodriguez Jr.an actor who appeared in “Boo! A Madea Halloween” filed the lawsuit against Perry and Lionsgate Films Thursday in California, claiming he first connected with Perry in 2015 after a gym trainer approached him and told him Perry wanted to meet him. In the alleged conversation upon meeting Tyler Perry, Rodriguez claims TP offered him a part in an up coming movie. According to Rodriguez he told Tyler Perry he didn’t have any acting experience in which Perry replied “You know, Mario, I’m not a bad person to know and have in your corner.” Tyler Perry invited to his home where they allegedly had drinks and Tyler Perry physically pushed up on Rodriguez so he left. Tyler Perry’s alleged behavior didn’t continue during production, but after it wrapped up TP invited him over again.  In 2018, Rodriguez says he went to Perry’s house, believing the two would discuss possible career opportunities. However, once there, Rodriguez claims Perry asked him if he enjoyed receiving oral sex before reaching into his underwear and grabbed his penis. Rodriguez claims Perry gave him money $5,000 after the incident while apologizing for his alleged conduct.  Allegedly a repeat of the above happened again.  Now Rodriguez is suing Perry for sexual assault, sexual battery, and emotional distress.  However inquiring minds have questions about Mario Rodriguez story, like if TP was abusing you why did you go back?  

Mario Rodriguez Jr. is now addressing the elephant in the room, as to why he kept seeing Tyler Perry after he allegedly abused him, via a TikTok video statement.  According to Rodriguez the answer is complicated, pointing to career ambitions, fear, and self-doubt as factors that influenced his decisions.   “Why did I keep going back there? That’s the same question I asked myself for so many years,” 

The answer…

“That question is the number one reason why victims don’t come forward,” he said, referring to the scrutiny around continued contact. He added, “I didn’t have the perfect explanation… I’m tired of carrying that weight on my shoulders.”
