‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie has been living a living hell for over a week with the unknown of who took her mother Nancy Guthrie from her home. Many have been following the story praying for the Guthrie family because lets be real, can you imagine how they must feel?? Because of who the Guthrie’s are and the nature of her abduction we are getting updates what seems like by the hour. Yesterday afternoon authorities released a video of an “armed individual” in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie with footage received from her door camera. Then hours later we received news that authorities had detained a person of interest. The man that was detained, has been released been released and is speaking.
Carlos Palazuelos a delivery driver says deputies pulled him over near his home in Rio Rico, Arizona, and immediately threw him in the back of a cop car without explaining what was going on. He says he was held for hours, claims they didn’t read him his Miranda rights until nearly two hours later, and says his wrist swelled up from the handcuffs. While he was detained, Carlos says deputies kicked in his front door and damaged his garage while searching the home he shares with his wife and mother-in-law, leaving his family shaken and scared. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed they were executing a court-authorized search at the residence. By Wednesday morning, Carlos was released however authorities kept his cell phone and as of right now is not facing charges.
Carlos say’s that he “ didn’t even know who this woman (Nancy Guthrie) was, that he works as a delivery driver,” “I hope they get the suspect,” he said. “Because I’m not it.”
