Many people don’t realize the greatest blessing is to be a blessing. LSU Women’s Basketball star guard Flau’Jae Johnson understands that. Instead of just preparing for March Madness, the 2025 Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament, Flau’Jae Johnson is giving March Madness a new meaning by wiping out $5 million in debt for Louisiana families.
21 year old Flau’Jae Johnson has been blessed with many talents, she is a rapper as well as a basketball star with WNBA potential as a junior at LSU. Flau’Jae could take her national championship, concert and NIL money and go home. But she is choosing to reach back and bless those as she has been blessed. On March 14, 2025, global data and technology company Experian announced that the Louisiana State University women’s basketball guard would serve as spokesperson for its initiative to help relieve impoverished families following reports of record-high consumer debt. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Louisiana has one of the highest poverty percentages in the country. In partnership with Experian, an additional $100K will be forgiven for every LSU women’s basketball win in the tournament, giving families the chance to rise above debt and secure their financial futures.
According to Flau’Jae Johnson in an Experian commercial:
“You know what’s bigger than basketball? Financial empowerment,” “Finances are tough, and Experian is helping the next generation pursue their dreams. … Money isn’t everything, but you need it to live a good life. The Experian app can help you save time and money, build your credit and help you gain more knowledge in finances.”
