Back in October 32 year old Durk Devontay Banks, better known as rapper Lil Durk, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and booked into the Broward County Jail for alleged for murder-for-hire, with the slaying of rapper Quando Rondo’s cousin, a shooting in which Quando Rondo survived.
It’s now federal prosecutors are adding to Lil Durk’s legal woes as they are linking him to the fatal 2022 shooting of Stephon Mack outside a Chicago community center on the Far South Side.
According to The Chicago Tribune, court records alleged that Banks was the mastermind behind the murder-for-hire plot targetting Mack in retaliation for the murder of his brother Dontay Banks, who was fatally shot in 2021 outside of a nightclub in Harvey.
Lil Durk pleaded not guilty to conspiracy, murder-for-hire and firearms charges stemming from the August 2022 killing in Los Angeles of a victim who was reportedly the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo. Lil Durk’s trial is scheduled to begin in January.
