Kenya Barris Talks #BlackAF Not Being Black Enough and Divorce!? [VIDEO]

Kenya Barris is known to a lot of people from Comedy Central, however some don’t realize that he is the creator of Black-ish and the spin-offs, Grown-ish, Mixed-ish and now the Netflix series BlackAF.  Another little known fact about he was the man behind the scenes of Tyra Bank’s America’s Next Top Model.

Recently in an interview with the multifaceted, rapper T.I. on his podcast, expediTIously, Kenya Barris decided to keep it REAL-ish, about the negative naysayers, about his new Netflix biographical show, BlackAF, that is based on his real family.  The backlash of the show stems from his wife being bi-racial and his children being of fair skin, however Barris say’s that is what his real family looks like.  Barris also dives into the conversation of color-ism and the still real ill residue from slavery.

Kenya Barris also opened up about after going through a lot of up’s and downs since 1999 are now getting a divorce.

 “the toughest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”
