Is SZA “This Generation’s Mary J. Blige” ?

During a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne asked:

“Do we appreciate SZA as an artist the way we should?” “I mean, she gets all the radio play and all of that—I feel she can get more awards, which I’m sure she will. You know, the Grammys are next month, so she’ll get those accolades, but do we really appreciate the once-in-a-generation talent she is?”

The consciences of the question from the The Breakfast Club was that SZA “is this generation’s Mary J. Blige.”

Meanwhile comedian Jess Hilarious who teased that she would be joining The Breakfast Club as a permanent co-host to replace Angela Yee, only to find out that the tease was on her, begged to differ with her, who she thought was going to be co-hosts, referring to their comparison as trash.

“These Ni**as trash,” “Envy shut up! I know artists be pissed when old heads do this bc now everybody negative comparing SZA to MJB and it ain’t even her fault! She has her own identity.”

Although the rebuttal was a little nasty, it doesn’t take away from the fact that it is a great music debate question…Is SZA this generations Mary J. Blige?    Or is there no comparison between the tw0?

BTW…Let’s keep our comments/answers clean.
