Iconic Actress Cicely Tyson Has Passed Away Age 96

Prayers are in order as sad news is being reported that the iconic actress that has stood the test of time Cicely Tyson has passed away at the age of 96.  The news was confirmed by her manager Larry Thompson.

Old schooler will as remember the Harlem native Cicely Tyson as powerful portrayal of Miss Jane Pittman in ‘The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman’ in 1974.  The mother of Black Hollywood played in many iconic movies such as Alex Hailey’s ‘Roots’ and the award winning movie ‘Sounder’ not to mention a television career that she was still working in ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ and ‘Cherish The Day’.  Just earlier today Cicely Tyson Tweeted about being excited about her book that was just released a couple days ago Just as I Am: A Memoir [Cicely Tyson].

Cicely Tyson the mother to all of black Hollywood had no children of her own and was married last to the late legendary Jazz musician Miles Davis.

No cause of death has been given at this time.

We will be keeping the family, friends and colleagues of Cicely Tyson uplifted in our prayers.
