Hip Hop music Industry Vet Kevin Liles Resigns From Warner Music Group

It’s been a sad 24 hours for Hip Hop.

Breaking news last night was Bad Boy Records Founder, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, was arrested and being held without bail, accused of by a Grand Jury of, racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted he is facing a sentence of up to life in prison, and a minimum of 15 years.  On the heal of that shocking news Hip hop music industry vet Kevin Liles is resigning from his Warner Music Group Executive VP.

Kevin Liles will step down from his role as chairman and CEO of 300 Entertainment at the end of September, after coming on board in 2004. Sources have told Billboard that other executive departures may also be in the works during this leadership transition as well.

Via a memo from Kevin Liles:

After a decade, it’s time to pass the torch.   On Sept 30, I’ll be departing 3EE and WMG, and our incredibly talented home-grown leaders, Rayna Bass and Selim Bouab, as well as the outstanding Gregg Nadel have my blessings for the future.
