There’s an old saying mommas baby but daddy’s maybe, but it in the year 2026 that saying has a twist on after a teenager in Georgia is being charged for receiving child support for a child that wasn’t his or hers.
Reportedly 18-year-old Brya Hardy was taken into custody after her ex-boyfriend came forward in December with allegations that raised serious red flags. Investigators say Hardy confronted the man, claiming he owed child support for a baby she alleged was his. Believing the claim, the victim reportedly paid more than $7,000 over time. Authorities later discovered that while there was a baby, the child was not biologically related to either Hardy or the alleged father. Once investigators uncovered the discrepancy, they launched a formal investigation into the payments and Hardy’s claims.
