Gayle King Stepping Away From ‘CBS Mornings’ !?

Lawd what is happening with the news.  Word on the streets is 10 year veteran and Oprah’s BFF, Gayle King, could be stepping away from ‘CBS Mornings’ as CBS News goes through some changes under new leadership.

Sources at Variety reported that 70 year old Gayle King, would be departing from the morning news show when her contract is set to expire in May 2026. The sources claimed that King may be stepping into a “different role” in the news division and could “potentially produce her own programming” for CBS.

CBS after the alleged word started circulating is claiming that the rumors are not true and issued a statement to PEOPLE

 “There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,”… “She’s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.”

Claims of King’s exit come amid other CBS talents leaving their roles following Skydance Media’s $8 billion acquisition of Paramount in August. CBS is one of the media company’s subsidiaries.
