Former NFL Player Alphonso Smith Jr. Shares A Disturbing Post Before Passing Away At 40

Prayers are in order as it has been reported that former NFL player Alphonso Smith Jr. has passed away at 40.  

Sadly it’s being reported that the former Denver Broncos player Alphonso Smith Jr. reportedly passed away by suicide at a housing community in Florida.  The day before Alphonso Smith Jr.’s passing he posted a disturbing message on Facebook.

“Do not cry for me! I tried everything in my power to fight the demons behind the ones that someone put into ME! I did not want to be that WAY!”… “I needed help & did not get it!”…“I am SORRY! THIS IS IT!”

Alphonso Smith Jr., second round of the NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He played his rookie season with the team before being traded over to the Detroit Lions, where he played three seasons. After playing 42 games in the NFL, he retired from the league in 2012. Following his retirement from professional football, he returned to Pahokee High School as a coach. However, his coaching career at his alma mater ended in 2015 following inappropriate conduct allegations.
