2025 has not been former NBA star Gilbert Arenas year. First Gilbert Arenas son was in a serious car accident when his Cyber truck allegedly malfunctioned and placed in a medical induced coma. Praise God he is now alright, however now Gilbert Arenas has been arrested on federal charges for allegedly running an illegal gambling business.
According to a report prosecutors say Gilbert Arenas and five others, including a suspected Israeli mob figure, operated an illegal gambling business from 2021 to 2022 by allegedly running high-stakes underground poker games out of his Encino mansion. Allegedly Arenas rented the house out and had it staged for the games, which featured chefs, valets, armed security, and even young women offering massages and “companionship.” Players were charged per pot, and the house collected a cut.
Gilbert Arenas is facing charges for conspiracy, illegal gambling, and lying to investigators. If convicted, he would face up to five years in federal prison for each count. Gilbert Arenas as well as the other defendants are set to appear in court for their arraignments on Wednesday afternoon in the United States District Court in Los Angeles.
