We have people being swept up by ICE to in an effort to mass deport people, some of whom have been detained that shouldn’t have been, coupled with prison overcrowding, manhunts for jail breaks, people who have done criminal acts still walking around awaiting court dates or walking around because they haven’t been pickup yet. But Florida had time to jail a Florida mother for 7 days because she allegedly violated her HOA (Home Owners Association) rule by having brown grass and a dirty mailbox.
Irena Green tells WFTS that she was embarrassed and shocked that she was actually thrown in jail because she allegedly violated HOA rules. Green claims she started to receive complaints from the HOA management company. They claimed her grass was unkept due to it having brown patches, her garage was unacceptable due to dents on it, and that her mailbox was unsanitary due to the dirt and pollen accumulated on top.
Irena Green received complaints even though her neighbors conditions were worse then hers so she ignored them. So the HOA sued her and a judge gave her 30 days to fix the issues, or she would face consequences. Irena then made attempts to fix the issues but missed her next court date, claiming she was unaware of the hearing. The courts then issued a warrant for her arrest and she was later detained while picking up her daughter from school. She was taken to jail and given no bond.
