French bulldogs have been in high demand amongst dog thieves. Stories have been all over the news about Frenchie dog-napping, some even at gun point. A purebred French Bulldog from a breeder can cost between $3,000 to $10,000. The high cost for a Frenchie is due to their narrow hips, top-heaviness and weak back legs, French bulldogs typically can’t mate on their own. Reproducing requires artificial insemination and often require a C-section to deliver.
A FedEx driver is in jail after he was allegedly caught stealing a family’s French Bulldog in North Carolina on July 3 then accidentally killing it by leaving it inside his hot delivery truck. Kimani Joehon Marshal, 44, was delivering packages when he came across the dog. Being a good FedEx he continued on his normal route while the Frenchie sat in the back of the truck without food or water. When Kimani came back to the dog hours later, the dog had died.
Kimani Marshal has lost his job at FedEx and is due in court this week on charges that include larceny of a dog, possession of stolen goods and cruelty to animals.
