Drone Drops Crab Legs, Steak, Old Bay, Cigarettes and Weed Into South Carolina Prison [VIDEO]

For the kids the Christmas Holiday season is all about the toys, for adults the reason for the season is to celebrate by eating, drinking and being merry and that’s exactly what it seems some prisoners serving time at Lee Correctional Institution in South Carolina was trying to do when a drone delivery got intercepted drop delivering crab legs, steak, Old Bay seasoning, cigarettes and weed in the prison yard.

According to South Carolina Department of Corrections on there social media picture post with the hashtag #ContrabandChristmas.

“Seems some folks were planning an early holiday Old Bay crab boil and steak dinner along with their marijuana and cigarettes — all dropped by a drone at Lee CI,”

According to the prison spokeswoman Chrysti Shain, keeping contraband out of state prisons is a constant battle. People would toss or use a catapult to get packages of cellphones, drugs or other illegal items over the perimeter fence until officials raised the fences and added netting at the top.

Prison officials said they are investigating and no arrests have been made as of yet however flying a drone near a prison in South Carolina is a misdemeanor crime that carries up to 30 days in jail. Dropping contraband into the prison is a felony that can land someone behind bars for 10 years.
