Donald Trump Says Civil Rights Caused White People To Be “Very Badly Treated”

Civil rights are legal guarantees of equal social opportunities and protection under the law, ensuring fair treatment regardless of race, sex, religion, or other characteristics, enforced by government action and laws like the Civil Rights Act of 1964, protecting rights such as voting, fair trials, public education, and freedom from discrimination in housing, employment, and public spaces.  Unfortunately this country had to put policies in place because of the bolded above that we are not that far removed from ‘Whites Only’ dinning, rest rooms etc etc or Interracial marriage was legalized nationwide in the U.S. on June 12, 1967, because white people were allowed to legally to treat black people less than.  In short that is fact.  However President Donald Trump that has said he has done so much for black people in this country also feels that Civil Rights caused white people to be “very badly treated”

The New York Times’ David E. Sanger asked the president in an interview released on Sunday, “Do you believe … that the civil rights protections that Americans had, starting in the 1960s and so forth, resulted ultimately in the discrimination against white men?”

Donald Trump’s response:

“Well, I think that a lot of people were very badly treated. White people were very badly treated, where they did extremely well and they were not invited to go into a university or a college. So I would say in that way, I think it was unfair in certain cases,”  “I think it was also, at the same time, it accomplished some very wonderful things, but it also hurt a lot of people—people that deserve to go to a college or deserve to get a job were unable to get a job. So it was, it was a reverse discrimination.”
