“Pleading the Fifth” is a colloquial term often used to invoke the self-incrimination clause when witnesses decline to answer questions where the answers might incriminate them. So it stands to reason if some one ‘takes the 5th’ they have done something.
The FBI executed a warrant at Donald Trump‘s on his Mar-a-Lago Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. Donald Trump confirmed the search by releasing a statement saying:
“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” “they even broke into my safe.”
Now it’s being reported that Donald Trump is pleading the 5th.
Donald Trump was being questioned by New York attorney general, Letitia James, in a deposition that seems from a three-year investigation centered around the Trump Organization allegedly misleading insurers and lenders with financial statements, when he decided to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights.
Everybody nows where there is a Fifth Amendment there’s fire.
