Detroit Lions Fan Files $100M Defamation Suit Following DK Metcalf Swinging On Him [VIDEO]

Twas the Sunday before Christmas during the 2nd quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. The Detroit Lions at Ford Field. What the camera caught was Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf connecting on a fist pass to a Lions fan. There is no question that fans go too far these days. The question is what prompted a player on the field to reach up and clock a fan in the stands.  Unofficial word on the street was the used a racial slur.  The fan says he called DK by his government name.  The Steelers WR DK Metcalf was suspended for two games (final two of the 2025 regular season) and faced a potential voiding of $45 million in guarantees after swinging at a Detroit Lions fan in Week 16.  The fan however is upset feeling that his name has been defamed and is standing ten toes down that he didn’t call DK Metcalf a racial slur and he is asking for $100m because of it.

Detroit Lions fan Ryan Kennedy of Michigan filed a lawsuit in Wayne County Court on Tuesday demanding $100 million over the December 21, 2025 incident with Metcalf at Ford Field that that went viral.  Kennedy, who spoke his truth in a press conference after being accused of using a racial slur, is now going after Metcalf, the Pittsburgh Steelers, ex-NFL wideout Chad Johnson, Shannon Sharpe’s Shay Shay Media, and more claiming they spread what he calls “defamatory and life-altering” claims about him after the incident.
