Deliberations Have Begun, Will Trump Be Found Guilty? [VIDEO]

Jury deliberations began Wednesday morning in New York prosecutors’ case against Donald Trump, the first criminal trial involving a former president.  Deliberations started after state Judge Juan Merchan finished delivering his instructions to the 12person jury on the laws it will need to consider as it decides the historic case.  The jury could render a verdict as soon as Wednesday afternoon, though it could take days and even stretch into next week.  The prosecutor Joshua Steinglass told the panel: “You, the jury, have the ability to hold the defendant accountable.”  The question is will he be found guilty?

Prosecutors argued that Donald Trump improperly recorded the money with which he reimbursed his former lawyer and fixer as legal expenses. They further accused him of falsifying the business records to conceal a second crime – a violation of state election law.  If Donald Trump were to be convicted before the 2024 election and win the contest, he could try to grant himself a pardon.

Former President Donald Trump spoke Wednesday afternoon after the jury began deliberations in his hush money trial.
